BENNET, Colorado (KDVR) – Customers at the Bennett King Soopers gas station were left with cars stopped after mixing fuel.
According to FOX31 viewers, the King Soopers gas station in the city of Benetto put diesel fuel in unleaded tanks, which caused many problems for cars. Many cars began to break down and brake as they drove away.
Customers were told that an investigation was underway and that the insurance company would be in contact with them.
Troublemakers approached King Soopers for comment on the incident.
There was a supplier error at our Bennett gas station on May 11 around 8 p.m.
We worked to inform the affected customers and completed the rehabilitation of the fuel center, which has since reopened. We apologize for the error and review our processes with the vendor to prevent this from happening in the future. ”

This is not the first King Soopers gas station to sell the wrong fuel. Six years ago, a fuel supplier at King Soopers on West Evans Avenue accidentally stored diesel in unleaded tanks. In that case, about fifty drivers were affected.
A similar mess also occurred in Valerou in Commerce City back in November 2021. State regulators investigated the situation as diesel damaged and destroyed several cars.
